What it is
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) are configuration standards published by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for operating systems, applications, network devices and other technology. Department of Defense policy, in DoD Instruction 8500.01, requires DoD information technology to be configured in line with the applicable STIGs.
