Hospital Command Center Dashboard
The Hospital Command Center Dashboard brings bed status, emergency department waits, pending admissions, transfers and expected discharges into one live view for your capacity team and unit leaders. It highlights where patients are waiting and why, so the people who can unblock a discharge, a bed clean or a transfer see it and record what they did. Decisions about patients stay with your clinicians and bed managers; the dashboard keeps the picture current and the history on record.
Principal workflows
- See capacity: Bed status, census, pending admissions, ED arrivals and transfers are drawn from your EHR and operational systems and shown on one view, by unit and service, as they change.
- Plan discharges: Units record expected discharge dates and the barriers that stand in the way, so case management and the capacity team can work the barriers early.
- Huddle and escalate: Regular capacity huddles run from the same view. Actions are assigned to named people, and escalations follow the surge plan your organization sets.
- Learn: Daily and weekly reviews use the recorded data on waits, delay reasons and actions, so improvement work targets the causes that recur.

- ED boarding view: Patients waiting in the ED for an inpatient bed, with the time since the admit decision and the bed request status.
- Expected discharges: Patients expected to leave today and tomorrow by unit, with discharge barriers and who owns each one.
- Discharge barrier tracking: Barriers such as pending results, consults, transport, medications or post-acute placement recorded, assigned and timed.
- Bed turnaround: Time from discharge to clean bed to next assignment, so delays in cleaning or assignment show up.
- Transfer center view: Incoming and outgoing transfer requests with their status, accepting service and bed readiness.
- Configurable thresholds: Unit and ED thresholds you set for census, waits and boarding, highlighted when crossed.
- Huddle mode: A view built for capacity huddles, with actions assigned to people and kept with the day's record.
- Surge level tracking: Your surge or escalation plan levels recorded, with who changed the level, when and why.
- Wall display and mobile: Large-screen displays for the command center, and mobile views for supervisors on the move, with limited patient detail on shared screens.
- Forecast of demand: Expected admissions and discharges for the coming hours based on your recent history, shown as a planning aid for bed managers to judge.
- Throughput history: Waits, delay reasons and actions kept over time for daily, weekly and committee reviews.
Integrations
- EHR (ADT and orders): Admissions, discharges, transfers, bed assignments, admit decisions and discharge orders from your EHR, through HL7 v2 or FHIR.
- ED tracking board: Arrivals, triage times and bed requests from your ED tracking system.
- Environmental services and transport: Bed cleaning and patient transport requests and completion times from the systems your teams use.
- Transfer center: Incoming and outgoing transfer requests and their status.
- Integration engine: Feeds can be routed through your existing engine, including Moraph's Integration Engine service.
- Single sign-on: Staff sign in through your identity provider (SAML or OpenID Connect).

Deployment
- Moraph cloud: Hosted and operated by Moraph in the United States region, with United Kingdom and Australia regions for organizations outside the US.
- Dedicated environment: A single-tenant environment for health systems whose policies require isolation, scoped in the proposal.
- With a managed service: Optionally run alongside Moraph's Integration Engine service, which builds and monitors the feeds the dashboard depends on.
Security and privacy
- Business associate agreement: Moraph signs a business associate agreement with you, since the dashboard handles PHI.
- Single sign-on: Staff sign in through your identity provider, so your password and multi-factor policies apply.
- Role-based access: Patient-level detail is limited to the roles and units that need it; executives and support services see summaries.
- Encryption and keys: Data is encrypted, with keys Moraph staff cannot use without explicit, time-bound authorization.
- Complete audit trail: Views of patient detail, bed changes, surge levels and exports are logged with the person and time.
- Data residency: Data stays in the hosting region you choose: the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia.
Limitations
- The dashboard does not make clinical, admission, discharge or bed placement decisions. Your clinicians and bed managers do.
- It is not the system of record for beds or patients; your EHR remains so, and the dashboard is only as current and accurate as the feeds it receives.
- Demand forecasts are planning aids based on your history and can be wrong, especially during unusual events.
- It does not replace your ED tracking board, transfer center software or EHR bed board; it brings their information together.
- EMTALA obligations, surge plans and patient flow policies are your organization's; the dashboard records actions but does not ensure compliance.
- It does not dispatch environmental services or transport staff unless those systems are connected.
- It is not intended for regional or multi-hospital load balancing between unaffiliated organizations.
